Welcome to your Insurance Restoration Roadmap, our first step at transparency with you. If this is your first insurance restoration project or need a refresher on the process, this is your guide. This is a general overview of the process from start to finish. Follow along with the steps outlined in this brochure to know where you stand on the journey to complete restoration. Understanding where you are in the process can be difficult, but this roadmap will give you a clear picture of what to expect.
1. Inspect & Document
Take proactive steps by arranging a professional property inspection for hail damage. Focus on key areas such as windows, gutters, garage doors, fences, siding, chimneys, roof shingles, and accessories. Remember, insurance typically covers hail damage beyond just the roof. When you work with K&M Services, we handle all of these for you.
We inspect for damage around the property, document it, and prepare it for the adjuster’s appointment. Doing so is a proactive measure to makes sure your claims runs smoothly.

2. File A Claim
Once damage is confirmed, initiate the claims process with your insurance carrier. You can do this by contacting their claims department, reaching out to your insurance agent directly, or submitting a claim online.
3. Your Insurance Adjuster’s Appointment
Your insurance provider will dispatch an adjuster to assess the damage and provide a detailed estimate for your restoration project. This assessment, known as the Insurance Paperwork, is crucial. We recommend having a specialist in insurance restoration projects, like K&M Services, present during the initial adjuster’s appointment.
4. Review Insurance Paperwork
Carefully review the insurance paperwork to identify any discrepancies. Whether it’s incorrect quantities or missing items, it’s common to revise the initial estimate provided by your insurance carrier.
5. Plan & Build
Select your preferred shingle and review the project timeline. Obtain necessary city permits if required. Once materials are ordered and delivered, our crews will commence and complete the restoration project.
6. Completion
Upon completion, we’ll send you and your insurance carrier a copy of the Certificate of Completion. This allows the carrier to release any required depreciation and ensures all necessary paperwork is completed for your insurance claim.
7. Follow-Up & Document
Maintain detailed records of all interactions with your insurance company and contractors. These records may prove valuable for future reference or in case of disputes.
